meadow meditations

Meadow meditations emerged from observing the work of researchers and biologists at the Archipelago Research Institute and Metsähallitus Wildlife Services in Seili and the archipelago. The artistic research focused on the nature of long-term research projects, the relationship between the researcher and researched and knowledge which does not fit into the scientific framework.

Meadow meditations were presented to the public in the form of day long communal enquiries including presentations by researchers, video works by Arja Renell, dialogue and exercises. The aim was to find different ways to approach other species, to create room for the unknown and a widened awareness of us humans as part of, not above other animal, plant or mineral life.
