Why don’t we care about our wildlife as we do about our domestic animals? Why isn’t the disappearance of species underwater taken seriously? How can we help the recovery of lost fish?
As part of the Halikonlahti Green Art Exhibition, 2011, the work Missing (Kadonnut), posters were distributed around the Salo area (which lies by the Baltic shore) in search of fish species that have more or less disappeared from the Baltic sea. The artwork brings this underwater tragedy into the everyday local environment in a domestic manner. Appealing to the emotions of passers by, like when searching for a missing domestic animals, the work raises awareness of the fish disappearing from the Baltic and encourages people to make fish-friendly choices in their everyday lives.
